Novasource Renal is a calorically-dense, nutritionally complete formula designed to meet the unique needs of individuals with chronic kidney disease on dialysis (CKD); acute kidney injury (AKI); and/or an electrolyte or fluid restriction due to AKI or CKD. It provides 18% of calories from protein (90.7 grams/liter) to meet needs and to help replace losses associated with dialysis and has an optimized electrolyte content (potassium, magnesium, and phosphorus) to help manage imbalances; thus, creating a nutritionally complete formula for tube feeding or oral supplementation. Novasource Renal is suitable for lactose-intolerant, gluten-free, low-residue, and kosher diets; however, it is not formulated for individuals with galactosemia, and is intended for use under medical supervision.
